Mild Mediterranean taste. Some things are not as simple as they seem. This includes the Greek mountain tea. Anyone who thinks that this is only available in Greece is wrong. Because the plant, which is similar in appearance to the sage, is mainly grown in the Mediterranean region. Greek mountain tea, genus Sideritis scardica, is not a blend of herbs, as some believe, but a species of sage that belongs to the mint family. Despite this relationship, they differ significantly in taste from one another. To make a fine mountain tea, you break up the whole stalk bearing the leaves and flowers and pour hot water over them. The sweet scent of the yellow, mildly spicy, slightly lemony tea that flows towards you immediately cannot be resisted for long. Greek mountain tea also tastes Sommer when drunk cold and mixed with fruit juice.
