The bird world of Central Europe has undergone enormous changes in the last few centuries, mainly caused by humans. The main cause of the decrease in the biodiversity of wild birds and the decline in the populations of many native songbirds in many areas of Central Europe are the habitat losses or deterioration since the 1950s.
by
- the almost wild herb-free monocultures in agriculture
- the elimination of fallow land on which, for example, cornflowers, poppies, thistles and many other vital wild herbs grew.
- the use of land for the construction of settlements and transport routes
- the use of insecticides
there has been a huge decrease in the availability of food.
Adequate supplementary feeding in winter or even better all year round makes a significant contribution to bird protection, in particular to maintain and in some cases even to restore the biodiversity of our bird world. Long-term studies have shown that feeding places increase the bird density and the start of laying prematurely. The reproductive success increases due to the increased number of cubs that fly out.
Researchers even go as far as saying that replacement feeding would be ideal across the board by helicopter in the open countryside.
Important is
- Wild birds cannot be ´fed through´ but regularly look for a lot of food themselves, so that feeding is only ´additional feeding´.Special featuresAll ingredients come from Bioland cultivation.
